Baseball Game Preview: Wakefield Wolverines vs. Millbrook Wildcats

For the second straight game, Wakefield will face off against Millbrook. The Wolverines will welcome the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wakefield will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Wakefield's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Millbrook. The game was the first time the Wolverines have beaten the Wildcats on their field since April 6, 2022.

The result came thanks to Tyler Rotellini's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Wakefield's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mikey Katz, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Katz has posted since back in March.

Wakefield's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Millbrook, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-5.
