Baseball Recap: Cornersville Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Cornersville was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Huntland Hornets 3-2. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 11-9 victory the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Jacob Courtemanche was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Hayden Cherry was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Cornersville's win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for Huntland, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Cornersville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-2 loss against Mt. Pleasant on the 17th. As for Huntland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-0 defeat against Moore County on the 17th.
