There's no place like home for Port St. Joe, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They blew past the Vernon Yellowjackets 64-15 on Friday. The Tiger Sharks' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Port St. Joe was led to victory by Ellie Newman and KK McNair. Newman posted 12 points and six steals, while McNair went 6 of 13 on her way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellasyn Hensley, who put up seven points.

Despite the loss, Vernon saw an underclassman step up: freshman Honesty Daniels had nine points. That was a full 60% of Vernon's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

With the win, Port St. Joe broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4. As for Vernon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Port St. Joe is taking a road trip to challenge Covenant Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Vernon, they will host Bozeman at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
