Volleyball Recap: Spring Valley Falls to Silverado in First Game of Season

Spring Valley had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Silverado Skyhawks. The Grizzlies haven't had much luck with the Skyhawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

While Spring Valley was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-20, 25-10.

Spring Valley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Markien Halili, who had 18 digs and one assist, and Stanley Chan, who had eight digs.

Rayden Inong was the offensive standout of the contest as he had nine digs and three assists. That's the most digs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Silverado's win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.

Spring Valley has already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Sunrise Mountain on the 7th. As for Silverado, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Green Valley on the 6th.
