Basketball Recap: Johnson-Brock Falls Short Against Ranked Freeman

On Thursday, Johnson-Brock faced Freeman in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Johnson-Brock Eagles took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Freeman Falcons. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 55-51.

Camden Dalinghaus and Brody Koehler certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Dalinghaus went 6-for-13 to rack up 21 points, while Koehler went 5-for-12 on his way to 14 points and seven boards. The match was Dalinghaus' third in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Casen Dalinghaus, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Johnson-Brock fell to 20-1. As for Freeman, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-1.

Coming up, Johnson-Brock and Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. As for Freeman, they will square off against Sterling on February 21st.
