Soccer Recap: Concord Comes Up Short

Concord lost against Salisbury back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Spiders lost 5-1 to the Hornets. While losing is never fun, Concord can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 438th, while Salisbury are ranked 212th).

Concord's goal came courtesy of Autumn Williams, who's now up to five this season.

Concord's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Salisbury, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Concord will head out to square off against North Stanly at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Salisbury, they will venture away from home to take on North Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Salisbury will be up against North Rowan's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.8 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
