It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Spring Mills had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Martinsburg Bulldogs. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in September, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

Despite the loss, Martinsburg still got an impressive performance from Katie Zittle, who had 22 assists and six digs. Zittle has been hot, having posted 14 or more assists the last seven times she's played.

Spring Mills is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10-1 record this season. As for Martinsburg, they moved to 19-8 with that loss, which also ended their five-match winning streak.
