Basketball Recap: Caleb Cashion and Toby Schmandt Secure Win for Grace Christian

Grace Christian won the last time they faced Blue Ridge Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Grace Christian Warriors strolled past the Blue Ridge Christian Bears with points to spare, taking the game 62-44.

Leading Grace Christian to victory were Toby Schmandt and Caleb Cashion. Schmandt went 8 of 12 en route to 20 points and six boards, while Cashion went 7 for 11 on his way to 15 points and seven assists. Those 20 points gave Schmandt a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Cline, who posted nine points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Grace Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Grace Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Blue Ridge Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Grace Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-34 victory against Ridgeview Christian on the 3rd. As for Blue Ridge Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 48-40 defeat against Roanoke Valley Christian on the 4th.
