Football Recap: Clovis East Falls Despite Big Games from Marcellus Royal and Jamie Spurgeon + How To Watch

If Clovis East was feeling good fresh off their 29-6 takedown of Sanger last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Timberwolves took a 19-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grant Pacers on Friday. The loss was the Timberwolves' first of the season.

Clovis East's loss came despite strong showings from Jamie Spurgeon and Marcellus Royal. Spurgeon rushed for 77 yards and one TD, while Royal picked up 116 receiving yards.

Thorne Watson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Grant, rushing for 185 yards while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also catching one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Shiren Crump, who threw for 202 yards and a pair of TDs.

Having lost for the first time this season, Clovis East fell to 3-1. As for Grant, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Clovis East wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 30-19 victory against Lemoore on the 19th. As for Grant, they have also already played their next match, a 47-20 defeat against De La Salle on the 19th.
