Football Recap: Garden City Bearkats vs. Westbrook Wildcats
Garden City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 76-52 to the Westbrook Wildcats. The Bearkats lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in September of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 60-8 score last time.
Westbrook had a senior duo take command as Grayson Jeffrey gained 251 total yards and five touchdowns and Case Custer gained 185 total yards and three touchdowns. What's more, Jeffrey also racked up 170 rushing yards, the mosthe's had since back in November of 2023.
Garden City's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Westbrook, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Garden City is on the road again on Friday to play Rankin at 7:30 p.m. As for Westbrook, they will head out to square off against Rotan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westbrook knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Rotan likes a good challenge.
