Baseball Recap: Mount Calvary Christian Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Mount Calvary Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Christian School of York 2-1. The Chargers haven't had any issues with Christian School of York recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Josiah Masters made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Masters wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Butler, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that Butler has snagged this season.

Mount Calvary Christian's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of four runs across that stretch. As for Christian School of York, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Calvary Christian will take on Annville-Cleona at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Christian School of York, they will square off against Lancaster County Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
