Volleyball Recap: Dimond Takes Down Ranked Soldotna

Dimond faced Soldotna in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Lynx walked away with a 2-0 win over the Stars. That's more bragging rights for the Lynx, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Dimond was led to victory by Althea Olarte and Nia Cook. Olarte had ten digs and one assist, while Cook had eight digs. Those ten digs gave Olarte a new career-high.

Dimond has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-7-1 record this season. As for Soldotna, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7.

Dimond has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Colony on the 27th. As for Soldotna, after both having extra time off, they and Wasilla will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
