Basketball Recap: Chilhowee Indians vs. Bronaugh Wildcats
The Chilhowee Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. The matchup between them and Bronaugh wasn't particularly close, with Chilhowee falling 72-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Bronaugh got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tucker Duncan out in front who scored 38 points along with five steals. Duncan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Strauss Banes, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Chilhowee has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Bronaugh, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chilhowee will take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bronaugh, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
