Volleyball Recap: Hayley Shamblin and Dakota Schmidt Secure Win for Pamlico County + How To Watch

Pamlico County won the last time they faced Bear Grass Charter and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hurricanes walked away with a 3-1 win over the Bears.

Pamlico County was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-17, 21-25, 25-17.

Leading Pamlico County to victory were Dakota Schmidt and Hayley Shamblin. Schmidt had 31 assists and 13 digs, while Shamblin had 11 digs and three aces. Those 13 digs gave Schmidt a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Pamlico County was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in three consecutive games.

Pamlico County's record is now 3-5. As for Bear Grass Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

After both having extra time off, Pamlico County and Martin County will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gators will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Hurricanes surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bear Grass Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northside - Pinetown at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
