Baseball Recap: Winneconne Gets the Win

Winneconne got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Ripon Tigers 3-1. That's two games straight that the Wolves have won by exactly two runs.

Winneconne's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dallas Walker, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave Walker a new career-high.

The win made it two in a row for Winneconne and bumps their season record up to 3-4. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Ripon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Winneconne will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
