Basketball Recap: Myleigh Weers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Diller-Odell over Superior

Diller-Odell has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 51-35 fall against the Superior Wildcats on Friday. If the Griffin were looking for revenge after losing 50-28 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Diller-Odell's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Myleigh Weers, who posted 16 points and eight rebounds. That was a full 45.7% of Diller-Odell's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Baileigh Vilda, who had eight points and six boards.

Superior found their leader in sophomore Reagan Meyers, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Meyers also set a new season-high mark in steals with three. Faith Anne Butler was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Diller-Odell's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Superior, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3.

Diller-Odell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-30 victory against Exeter-Milligan/Friend on the 3rd. As for Superior, they have also already played their next match, a 49-47 loss against David City on the 4th.
