Baseball Recap: Regents Gets the Win

Regents's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the San Antonio Christian Lions.

Jack Buerkle was a standout: he went a perfect2-for-2 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Cash Nelson, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double.

Regents always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Antonio Christian only posted an OBP of .400.

The victory got Regents back to even at 1-1. As for San Antonio Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Regents will venture away from home to face off against Burnet at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for San Antonio Christian, they will welcome St. Michael's at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
