Softball Recap: Anahuac Beats East Chambers for Their Third Straight Win

Anahuac proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 17) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the East Chambers Buccaneers, sneaking past 5-3. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Brecken Wilpitz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Anahuac got a big performance out of Jayda Granger, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Granger has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Keeley Butler was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Anahuac's record is now 11-2-2. As for East Chambers, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7-1.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Anahuac Panthers challenge Buna Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Chambers, they will square off against Hardin at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
