Softball Recap: Pittsfield Takes a Loss

Pittsfield has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 1.86 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They lost 14-2 to the Newmarket Mules. That makes it the first time this season the Panthers have let down their home crowd.

This is the second loss in a row for Pittsfield and nudges their season record down to 10-4. As for Newmarket, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pittsfield beat the Mules by a score of 2-1 later that day.
