Basketball Recap: Cascade Takes a Loss

Cascade came up into this matchup off a tough 27-point loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Camanche Indians by a score of 39-36 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cougars have suffered since November 26, 2024.

Cascade's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-6. As for Camanche, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Cascade Cougars take on the Monticello Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Monticello has four straight victories, Cascade has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court. As for Camanche, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Anamosa at 6:15 p.m.
