Football Game Preview: East Lake Eagles vs. East Bay Indians

The East Lake Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the East Bay Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with East Lake sitting on four straight wins and East Bay on ten.

East Lake is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Manatee by a score of 13-0. The Eagles' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a point in their last three matches.

East Lake didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Melton and Sienna Zaccardo. Zaccardo has been hot, having also posted at least one defended passe the last seven times she's played. Melton got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, East Bay strolled past Tampa Bay Tech with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 26-7. The final result isn't all the surprising considering the Indians' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Titans are ranked 86th).

East Bay's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.4 points on average over those games. As for East Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.
