Ash Grove came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Lockwood Tigers. That's more bragging rights for the Pirates, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ash Grove had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-20.

Ash Grove's win bumped their record up to 6-2-1. As for Lockwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-2.

Looking ahead, Ash Grove will take on Diamond at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lockwood, they will face off against Marionville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
