Hanna lost against Veterans Memorial back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hanna Golden Eagles fell just short of the Veterans Memorial Chargers by a score of 2-1. The Golden Eagles' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Sebastian Escamilla spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Hanna's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Veterans Memorial, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.

Coming up, Hanna will challenge St. Joseph Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hanna's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so St. Joseph Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Veterans Memorial, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 15-5 victory against Edinburg North on the 3rd.
