Baseball Recap: Western Harnett Triumphs

Western Harnett took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Scotland, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Scots 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 24, 2025.

Jackson Adams got the start for Western Harnett and what a start it was: he tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Adams also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Eagles are 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Western Harnett's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Mazurowski, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Mazurowski has posted since back in April of 2025. Dariel Pagan was another, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Western Harnett's record now sits at 4-8. As for Scotland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Western Harnett has already played their next game, a 19-2 loss against Triton on the 27th. As for Scotland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-1 defeat against Purnell Swett on the 27th.
