Baseball Recap: Cascade Comes Up Short

Cascade was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 9-1 to the Newport Cubs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cubs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 on Monday.

Cascade saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was RG Majors, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Majors has launched this season.

Cascade's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Newport, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

While Cascade had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
