Basketball Recap: Minnechaug Regional Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Minnechaug Regional can now relate to. They lost 84-58 to the Somerset Berkley Regional Raiders on Friday. The Falcons just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Somerset Berkley Regional's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brendan Mcdonald, who dropped a triple-double with 17 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists. Another player making a difference was Colten Pacheco, who shot 58% from the field to rack up 21 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Minnechaug Regional's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Somerset Berkley Regional, the win was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-1.

Minnechaug Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Somerset Berkley Regional, they will face off against Leominster at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Somerset Berkley Regional knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 contests -- so hopefully Leominster likes a good challenge.
