Baseball Recap: Centralia Comes Up Short

If Centralia was feeling good fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Farina South Central on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Orphans lost 20-4 to North Clay/Clay City on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against North Clay/Clay City this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 last Friday.

Centralia has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for North Clay/Clay City, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 23-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Centralia will take on Mt. Vernon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Clay/Clay City, they will head out to face off against St. Anthony at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Bulldogs have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
