Basketball Recap: Antonio Hill Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Wenonah

Huffman lost to Wenonah back in November of 2022, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Vikings walked away with an 82-72 win over the Dragons. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 53.6 points per game.

Huffman got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Antonio Hill out in front who went 9-for-15 to rack up 21 points in addition to six assists and six boards. Hill is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 47% in the last four games he's played. Ardarius Pruitt was another key player, putting up 15 points and five steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Huffman was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Wenonah still got an impressive performance from Santez Pendleton, who shot 63% from the field en route to 24 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Demazzia Taylor, who posted 11 points along with five assists and five boards.

Huffman is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Wenonah fell to 6-1.

Huffman has already played their next contest, an 84-83 win against Hale County on the 24th. Wenonah has also already played their next matchup (against Overton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
