East Carteret strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Pamlico County Hurricanes a 4-0 shutout. Give the Mariners' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Eli Jenkins was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Luke Mcintosh, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double.

East Carteret pushed their record up to 17-0 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pamlico County, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

East Carteret will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hurricanes: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
