Softball Preview: Loyalton Grizzlies vs. Biggs Wolverines
The Loyalton Grizzlies will head out to face off against the Biggs Wolverines at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
Loyalton is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Lincoln last Tuesday. They lost 7-1 to the Fighting Zebras. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Biggs entered their tilt with Williams on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Yellowjackets 23-1. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Riley Harrison was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
