Soccer Recap: Wilson's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

After soaring to four goals the game before, Wilson was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They came up short against the Poteet Pirates, falling 6-1. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while the Pirates are ranked 57th).

Wilson's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four games. As for Poteet, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.

Looking ahead, Wilson will venture away from home to take on Seagoville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Poteet, they will welcome Adams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Poteet's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last five contests.
