Softball Recap: Northwood Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Foothill, Northwood was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the University Trojans by a score of 11-7. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Timberwolves considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Natalie Keith was a standout: she scored four runs and stole three bases while going 5-for-5. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Katerinna Rizos also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Northwood's record now sits at 3-5. As for University, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-2 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwood will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Woodbridge at 3:30 p.m. on April 9. As for University, they will square off against Ocean View at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ocean View has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.85 runs per game on average), something University will no doubt try to take advantage of.
