Softball Recap: Horizon Christian Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Horizon Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-6), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Sheridan Blackhawks on Monday as they made off with a 12-6 win. The result was nothing new for Horizon Christian, who have now won three matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Lucy Long made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Victoria Kiger, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Vanessa Williams was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
