Recap: Neodesha Blue Streaks vs. Fredonia Yellowjackets
The Neodesha Blue Streaks gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Fredonia 38-35. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Neodesha also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Fredonia's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Campbell Odell, who scored 7 points along with 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Harlee Blackwell, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Neodesha's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Fredonia, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Neodesha will take on West Elk at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully West Elk focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Fredonia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Douglass at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
