Basketball Recap: Yahir Monroy's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Metro Tech over Alhambra

The matchup between Metro Tech and Alhambra on Tuesday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Metro Tech Knights lost 64-44 to the Alhambra Lions. The defeat leaves the Knights without a win on the season.

Metro Tech's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yahir Monroy, who posted seven points along with ten boards and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Ivy, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Metro Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive games.
