Softball Preview: Eisenhower Eagles vs. Westfield Mustangs

The Eisenhower Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Westfield Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eisenhower knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Westfield likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Eisenhower earned an 11-7 win over Aldine.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Westfield, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They blew past Benjamin Davis 35-9 on Friday. The Mustangs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Westfield got a massive performance out of Elysia Andrus, who scored five runs and stole ten bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Thomas, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two triples.

Westfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .886. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Eisenhower now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Westfield, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
