Football Recap: Navasota Piles Up the Points Against Waco

Navasota won against Royal last Friday with 56 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Rattlers blew past the Waco Lions 56-21. The Rattlers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Waco's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was BRYANT WHITAKER JR., who rushed for 94 yards. WHITAKER JR. really tore up the turf during one magnificent 79-yard run.

The victory was the third in a row for Navasota, bringing their record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.7 points over those games. As for Waco, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Navasota will welcome La Grange at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Waco, they will be playing at home against San Angelo Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
