Soccer Game Preview: Pine Forest vs. Pinecrest

Pine Forest has won three straight games at home, while Pinecrest has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Trojans will host the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Pine Forest had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the four-goal drubbing they dealt Hoke County on Tuesday. The Trojans blew past the Bucks 5-1. Kaylen Sykes was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Pinecrest kept a clean sheet against Overhills on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 5-0 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Pinecrest's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Overhills are ranked 162nd).

Pinecrest's victory bumped their record up to 13-0-3. As for Pine Forest, their win bumped their record up to 11-3-1.
