Basketball Recap: Olympic Heights Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Olympic Heights had won seven straight home games dating back to last season and Miley Ruggieri did her part to make it eight on Monday. The Olympic Heights Lions took down the Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs 51-32 thanks in part to Ruggieri, who posted 26 points. Her evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Alcalay, who dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and ten assists. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played.

Olympic Heights' record is now 14-1. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.

Olympic Heights will square off against Benjamin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Olympic Heights is facing Benjamin at the right time seeing as Benjamin is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, they will be playing at home against FAU High at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dr. Joaquin Garcia will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: FAU High will have lost five straight heading into Wednesday's contest.
