Softball Recap: Hallettsville Snags 15th Win in Last 17 Games

Hallettsville won the last time they faced Yoakum and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Brahmas had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 4-3.

Grace Halata made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Halata was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caitlynn Halata, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Hallettsville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Yoakum, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hallettsville is set to challenge their familiar foe Palacios at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Yoakum will face off against rival Tidehaven at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
