Baseball Game Preview: Russellville Golden Tigers vs. Hartselle Tigers

The Russellville Golden Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Hartselle Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Russellville has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Hartselle will arrive with eight straight victories.

Last Thursday, Russellville didn't have quite enough to beat Lawrence County and fell 17-15. That's two games in a row now that the Golden Tigers have lost by exactly two runs.

Russellville got a massive performance out of Brayden Entrekin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Tristan Ray was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Hartselle made easy work of Decatur on Thursday and carried off a 14-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Hartselle's victory bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Russellville, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8.

Everything went Russellville's way against Hartselle when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Russellville made off with a 10-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
