Softball Recap: El Modena Falls Short of Norco in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, El Modena couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Norco Cougars on Saturday. The Vanguards were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

El Modena got a good showing from Ashley Driskill, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Driskill has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

El Modena moved to 22-9 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Norco, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-3 record this season.

El Modena has already played their next matchup, an 8-6 victory against Poway on the 5th. Norco does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
