Softball Game Preview: Lincoln County Lynx vs. Hurricane Tigers

The Lincoln County Lynx will head out to challenge the Hurricane Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Lincoln County will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Lincoln County's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over Lake Mead Christian Academy. The result was nothing new for the Lynx, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Hurricane came up short against Desert Hills on Friday and fell 5-2. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Austin Terry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Lizzy Horsley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Lincoln County's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Hurricane, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.

Lincoln County suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to Hurricane when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Lynx avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
