After a string of five wins, Williamson's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were beaten by the Hoover Buccaneers 82-52. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Williamson's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Hoover, the win keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.

Williamson will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on UMS-Wright Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for Hoover, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Jackson Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hoover knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 contests -- so hopefully Jackson Prep likes a good challenge.
