Basketball Recap: Capital Beats Centennial for Their Third Straight Win

Capital hadn't done well against Centennial recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Capital Golden Eagles secured a 68-63 W over the Centennial Patriots. The Golden Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

Centennial's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabe Eddins, who went 8 of 15 en route to 20 points and five rebounds. Eddins' evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Henry Johnson was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards.

The win was the third in a row for Capital, bringing their record for this year to 12-2. As for Centennial, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Capital will venture away from home to face off against Kuna at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Capital's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Centennial, they will square off against Owyhee at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Centennial is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 73.5 points per game this season.
