Football Game Preview: Valley Vikings vs. Eldorado Firehawks

The Valley Vikings are taking a road trip to face off against the Eldorado Firehawks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 53-8, which was the final score in Valley's tilt against Mater Academy East Las Vegas on Friday.

Meanwhile, Eldorado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Boulder City and fell 47-12. The Firehawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-0.

Valley will have to keep a close watch on Aerith Sanchez and Kaliyah Guillory, a pair of players who had a big impact on Eldorado's prior game. Sanchez gained 115 total yards and a touchdown, while Guillory picked up 68 receiving yards and one touchdown. Sanchez's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked her 11th straight game with at least 101 rushing yards.

Eldorado's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.

Valley couldn't quite finish off Eldorado when the teams last played back in January of 2024 and fell 28-25. Can Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
