Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Waukesha West's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Waukesha West won the last time they faced Luxemburg-Casco and things went their way on Saturday too. The Wolverines skirted past the Spartans 2-1.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Waukesha West got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 13-25, 15-12.

Mia Jannazzo paced Waukesha West's offense, picking up 16 kills. Jannazzo got some help from Ruby Friess and her 18 assists. Finally, Arianna Rodriguez kept Waukesha West's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Waukesha West has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-11 record this season. As for Luxemburg-Casco, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 30-12.

Waukesha West and Luxemburg-Casco should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Wolverines will face off against West Allis Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (10 vs. 449). Meanwhile, Luxemburg-Casco (ranked 36th) will meet Seymour (ranked 185th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
