Baseball Game Preview: Warren Warriors vs. Harlan Hawks

For the second straight game, Warren will face off against Harlan. The Warriors will host the Hawks at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Warren will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Last Tuesday, Warren got the win against Harlan by a conclusive 10-3. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Alex Garza made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Adrian Lopez was incredible, scoring a run and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Kevin Gutierrez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Warren's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Harlan, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-12.
