Baseball Game Preview: Sylacauga Aggies vs. Holtville Bulldogs

The Sylacauga Aggies will head out to take on the Holtville Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Thursday, Sylacauga came up short against Briarwood Christian and fell 5-2. The Aggies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sylacauga saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Phillips, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Holtville also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Pike Liberal Arts by a score of 10-5.

Holtville's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Sylacauga, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Sylacauga couldn't quite get it done against Holtville in their previous matchup back in February as they fell 12-8. Can Sylacauga avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
