Volleyball Game Preview: Start Spartans vs. Springfield Blue Devils

Start hasn't had much luck against Springfield recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Spartans will challenge the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Start came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to Adrian.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-20, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Springfield didn't have quite enough to beat Northview on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Springfield took Northview into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-17, 23-25, 17-25, 25-22, 15-13.

Start will have to contain Jonah Sheppard as he made an impact in Springfield's last game. He had 24 digs and one assist.

Start now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.

Start came up short against Springfield in their previous matchup back in March, falling 3-1. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
